I've been 'kicking it old school' recently and hooked up my 10 year old PS2 to the 10 year old 14" portable TV in the bedroom.

Been playing Vice City, good for nostalgic purposes but it really does look dated. Its so hard to see whats going on due to the blurry PS2 graphics and small screen. 10 years ago it seemed more than perfect. We are spoilt these days.

Gameplay was MUCH tighter back then. I've just done the mission where you have to take out 5 or so enemies. The first one is working up on a billboard and you have to snipe him. The last one rides a bike like Rossi - remember that level? against the clock of course. It got the adrenalin going like games did back then though.

Are games a bit 'walk through' now, with the empthasis on multiplayer? My mate bought Halo 4 the other day and completed the career mode in 4 hours.

totally agree. and everything is auto target almost so you dont really have to aim much and you hit something.
The last game that got me really going wasnt too long ago, its was Batman arkham asylum, flippin great game. got my pulse racing! but only on certain moments. still a great game though.

But out of old school games, i stick by spyro, what a brilliant game! from 1-3 are the best anything else was rubbish.
I remember vice city though, and it was causing news headlines everywhere!
