/// Official figures from the Department for Work and Pensions showed 40,260 Romanian and Bulgarian workers applied for National Insurance numbers last year - the largest number on record and a 28 per cent rise year on year. ///

Surely those who have in the past said "let them all in" should now be intelligent enough to realise we cannot go on letting more immigrants into our already over crowded, cash strapped, overburdened NHS, crowded classrooms, limited housing, job shortage, country?

That's why I left and moved to Australia years ago, the writing was on the wall in the 1990's guess it's going to get better, any time soon.
In 2014 as many as like can come and live here. What provision are we making for the expected influx, housing, extra schools, and the like?

Blair should never have chosen the open house policy when most of the other EU countries chose to imposed 7 year restrictions.

/// The Labour Government underestimated the impact of the EU expansion and the fact that most other European countries imposed 7 year restrictions on A8 nations such as Poland, Slovakia and Hungary.///

/// On May 1st 2012, Germany and Austria became the last European Union countries to lift transitional controls restricting access to their labour markets for citizens of Poland and seven other ex-communist countries that joined the EU in 2004. ///
Interesting argument chris1957au: you don't like immigrants, so you became one.
Nobody said they didn't like immigrants.

That matters little where rojash is concerned, it is the usual ploy he often uses, that being accusing others of saying things that they haven't.
Are you reading Chris1957 as saying he liked immigrants so much, and clearly couldn't be one in his own country, he went all the way to Australia so that he could become one?
Not how I'd read his post.
