Call from my GP today. Letters seem to have been lost or not acted on re my leg problem. Scan should have been booked but hasn't. Will chase up tomorrow.
There is one letter in in my notes that says I have no pulse in my left groin, knee and ankle. Do you think I can get these back? Can that mean the blockage is above the groin?
I have been told I need to take statins, aspirin and a stomach protector. Sound okay to you?
You are a patient man.:-) Love G x

Righto gness, I get the picture now. I'm sure sqad will appear in a mo. x
OK....nothing that we did not suspect.

Absent pulse in groin, knee and ankle would suggest a blockage in the abdomen.....iliac vessels or even the aorta.

i think that the likelihood of getting the pulses (blood flow) back is extremely unlikely without bypass surgery.........but one should never say never in this minefield called medicine.

A scan is essential to identify any arterial blockage in the aorto-iliac routes.

Right..I see thank you, Sqad. I'll chase up the scan tomorrow. Seems to have been forgotten somehow.

I'm quite a positive, glass quite full person. If bypass surgery is required and it's the abdomen could a tummy tuck be incorporated? Save all this blasted hula hooping.

Thanks Sqad. xx
LOL...if you want anything "tucking in"...............just try me first eh? ;-)

Hi Sqad....enjoy the club? ;-)

After many phone calls I have got an appointment for 29th Oct. for an angiography. Think that's what she said. It's the day before I go on holiday.... guess I'll be fighting fit by the 30th? Lots of Irish dancing and Guinness drinking to fit in! Gx
gness......well done....the angiogram is important.
Fingers crossed from this end......
Question Author
Thank you both....just trying to find out if Guinness thins the blood. x
how can it, Guinness is thicker than blood. The head on a glass of blood settles much more quickly.
Question Author
Jno....I have to ask......a glass of blood?

DT....You are a sweetheart! That article warants a cracking good lunch for you next time I visit daughter! XXX
