this is a good buy for a sim card
http://giffgaff.com/g...C_UK_giffgaff%20Brand but you would have to buy an "unlocked" mobile does it have to be a smart phone? if you want a decent mobe ive always going with nokia
Have a look at Tesco, they use the o2 network. You will get a half decent phone for a tenner a month. The downside is the 24 month contract.

As deggers has already stated GiffGaff do a good sim only deal wherby your texts and data are unlimited. Your minutes are governed by the amount you want to spend per month. They also use the o2 network, all you need is a smart phone off ebay which is either on o2 or unlocked.
I'd say this is the smart way to go rather than getting tied in for 24 months.
Get one off ebay and throw a PAYG sim in it: I just bought a Nokia N86 for £40.
Good advice snags....I got a smart phone.....only it is stoopid. Dials the interweb all on its own to update....stoopid I tell ya.
You can probably turn that feature off...
Just got a Samsung galaxy ace from carphone warehouse for 7.50 a month. Fantastic deal, great little phone.

''would you say this is a good deal''

Depends what you want to do: will you be mainly talking, texting or surfing? Do you really 'need' a Smarthphone?
