Just when we are beginning to turn on the central heating it's comforting to know that Global Warming came to an end 16 years ago.

That should bring down our energy bills, shouldn't it?

Don't hold your breath though.

Just kill all the cows - two major benefits, (i) removes a major source of pollution (ii) badgers can live.
Look at this chart , it goes back 400,000 years , I got a copy when I was working at The British Antarctic Survey. There is an enlargement of the last 50 years , you can see the minor blips, what is really scary is looking back from 400,000 years until around 100 years ago, you can see variations but nothing like the last 50 years , it virtually goes off the scale.

I was a bit sceptical about global warming until I saw this graph
I see the 13thC is conveniently left off - temps in the UK were 3C warmer than they are today (1215 Magna Carta), red wine being grown as far north as Luton, white up into Scotland............ Oh, the joys of statistics.
I'm a glaciologist by earlier training so retain a healthier skepticism to "global warming" - I am not condoning belching gases into the atmosphere or the depletion of resources, lets be clear about that.........
Eddie don't worry

Google Hockey stick Controversy
the late 19thC downward spike was Krakatoa, a moderate sized volcano by standards - wait for the Caldera in Yellowstone to go and that is 2/3rds full - last time the magna and ash stretched across to Chicago and Houston ....good news is that it won't happen for 1/4 million years but it is possible that the last one (Indonesia - and recorded in the Greenland ice) caused a major disruption in fauna and flora...and one of the explanations of the demise of dinosaurs way back.
