I agree, aog, and I have a bowler hat, bought when I was a young man. The fact that, even then, they were distinctly out of fashion, and the only time I wore it was to attend a Jewish funeral, is quite immaterial!

But the principle, bowler hat or no, seems sound.

We still wear bowlers and carry brollies but due to cuts, it's one of each between five of us so there is a strict rota.
