With the new G4 phones having fast internet connection, why can't computers connect to the internet the same way instead of relying on fibre optic cables or copper telephone lines.

G4 is a security company. 4G is the super fast internet.

(wi-fi is for connecting a computer to a wireless router, not for using the mobile phone network for an internet connection)
You may not need a dongle if your smart phone can be turned in to a 'wifi hotspot'.

My blackberry has 1GB data allowance and that is how I mostly use it up.

Let me rephrase. How can I connect my home computer (Mac mini) to the mobile phone network to access faster internet connection.
