well slackalice, i am now using internet explorer, but it says at the topof the page internet explorer optmized for Bing and MSN
Whats being downloaded are all the files used in constructing the web page, ie images, html text, placeholders, banners, links etc.
Rather than save in this way, I would copy and paste what I wanted into a word document, much easier.
So what version of IE have you got? Click Help and About Internet Explorer.
Bing is M/S default search engine, much like Google. If you want Google go to Tools and Manage Add Ons, select Google and select make default.

i dont know who to thank, maybe everybody who tried to help. I have IE, but after reading rons advice, clicking on the 3 bars, and clicking on my downloads, i could open my articles no problem!

thanx once again : )
That's good at least you've solved your problem
Pleased you are now back in business.

Incidentally, even if you prefer to use IE as your default Browser, I would suggest that you retain Google Chrome as a back-up item. You can have as many browsers as you like. I have three...IE; Google Chrome; and my favourite Firefox... OS being Vista.

Cheers.....Ron.
