Morning,

I’ve lived in this house for about 4 years. The previous owners took all their belongings when they sold and moved out.

I was working in the loft a couple of weeks ago and found a substantial amount of money in old £20 notes hidden under the loft insulation.

Is this money legally mine? If so, what do I do with it

i would not tell anyone how you got it...they may try to take it from you...you could just say an elderly relative gave it to you ..

Have you spent any of it yet, Lofty?

Hi, no, not even taken it to the bank. Having read various responses I still don't know what to do. I'm worried if I tell the bank of England that I found it in my lift they will involve the police. People just don't forget £30,000!

Believe it or not I wish I had never found it.
Is there any update on this?
I think Lottie is away on holiday at the moment
Hi Lofty23. I still think about your windfall and wonder what happened. It would be good if you could give us an update. Thanks
I'm intrigued, so what happened?!
