Hi Has anyone ever done this. I booked my flights three months ago went online tonight to print off my boarding passes. When they printed I noticed that I had miss spelt my husbands surname instead of Roberts it says Roiberts an error on my part. Do I have to phone and tell them or will this get him through the gate. I have a feeling Ryanair will want me to pay for a name change. Christine

You need to check it out. If the ticket doesn't match the name on the passport, then they can refuse travel. That's why they tell you to check the details at the tie of booking.
It is so obviously a mistake would just turn up and book in. If they say anything just say you did'nt notice.
Agree with Eddie. They just glance at them anyway.
Yes it's not like the name is wrong just an extra i . If you phone them I bet they demand you change it and charge you. Just arrive and pretend you didn't notice.
Ooh dear - that could be dicey, knowing what Ryanair is like, I bet they will gleefully point this out. They are not bad with stringent checks this end, this lulls you into a false sense of security, but the return journey is another matter, they check EVERYTHING, especially size of cabin luggage, so please be warned. Which airport are you flying from and to?
I would definitely contact them - better to sort it out now than to find they refuse to let you fly on the day. I'm sure a while ago the same thing happened to a friend and they amended the booking free of charge. It may depend on who you speak to and how sympathetic they are.
Mr O'Leary sympathetic?? don't make me laugh :))

Ha Ha I know what you are all saying they have a rep.. I travel with them all the time and I go over to Spain a few times a year. I once put my husband down as Doc Roberts and they never commented. I am traveling from Liverpool to Murcia. I think I once miss spelt my husbands friends first name and it was ok. I will phone them tomorrow.... at ten pence a minuet for the phone call. Thanks anyway xx
"A passenger name can be changed online at the rate of £110/€110 or via the airport or reservation centre at the rate of £160/€160. Name changes can be made up to 4 hours prior to the scheduled flight departure time either online (unless you have already checked in online*)or via a reservation centre (subject to opening hours)."

I wouldn't alert them myself.
jno , I think that means if someone wants to change a booking into someone elses name not to correct a minor mistake. I still say , just go and if they mention it plead ignorance.
That's a difficult one as I thought Ryanair were ultra picky. Boils down to how devastated you'd be on the offchance they notice and either stop you flying or ask you to cough up at the desk.
I've googled around and although many people start with the same suspicion as me - that Ryanair will charge you for anything - quite a few have said they got it sorted over the phone without charge (except the phone bill). So you're probably doing the right thing.

Everything ok. Phoned and they just changed it for me :)
That's nice to know if we ever make the same mistake chris r :)
Yep as they will not allow you to travel. Not sure which airport you flying as well, as usually they have a special desk there to charge people (no really to make more money of people) for overloaded luggage, not checking in online, name mispells etc.. I would not leave it for the last minute though
