The gold medals contain just over 1% gold, the rest is made up of silver (92.5%) and copper (6.16%)

Went to see, but not hold, the Olympic Medals in the British Museum on Saturday. Beautiful.

gness - I love the British Museum, great day out.

Dee - have had a throat virus, been feeling grotty - hahaha the Essex Lion turned out to be an obese cat - though I still think it was Lenny the Lion escaping from his retirement home....hahaha (:o]
