If ovarian cancer is diagnosed, the doctors should be able to state what stage it has reached. It is often not discovered until stage 4, which is almost invariably fatal. Doctors and surgeons can treat the patient by various methods, they can prolong life, but three years survival would be good. Large quantities of fluid in the abdomen would be a bad sign.
