This is a difficult one. There are two questions which seem to have the same answer but one of them is three words and the other is three words and one word for the nickname. The clues are as follows -

1. I'm late, I'm late for a very important date was NOT his cry (three words, such as King Harold I)

2. Does his nickname imply he was fleet of foot? (three words and one word, which I have as King Harold I - Harefoot)

I think (2) is correct, so what on earth can I put for (1)? Any ideas please?

Are the answers only British Kings and Queens? Apparently King Louis XVIII is attributed with saying 'punctuality is the politeness of kings'.

No, sorry furrypusscat. It has exactly the same suggestions as I already have and it should be noted that in the clue it says NOT in capital letters so this would imply that he was fleet of foot the same as the other one, not slow and unready. Thanks for helping though. You are very kind.

Or maybe he was fussy about keeping appointments. Very difficult.
1. Well the white rabbit in Alice in wonderland sang this, but if it was NOT 'his cry', then the other guy was the MAD hatter, so perhaps refers to the madness of King George III. ???
My pleasure. Sorry I couldn't help further.

Could be, Winner, but I have George III for the clue Did his flair for gardening give rise to his nickname? (which was Farmer George). What a dilemma!!
It's so hard to help when you don't have the quiz in front of you isn't it.

Yes, it is Winner, but it is very good of you to give suggestions, and I do appreciate it. I may have to put King Harold I, in desperation, but I would like to get it right if possible. I only have this one left to complete it.
King William 1 (the conqueror)?
Edward the confessor?
Question Author
Thanks Brenden but William the Conqueror apparently kept his promise to give up hunting when his queen died and Edward the Confessor owned up to being the founder of Westminster Abbey. I am utterly stumped with this one, and I don't think I am going to get a right answer. Thanks to everyone for helping.
After a google search, I have seen that King George II was obsessed with observance of court etiquette and punctuality. Does that help?

That sounds right winner but I have him for Dettingen Te Deum was composed to celebrate his battle victory.

Question Author
Foxlee, that sounds right and as there is no indication about it being confined to British Kings and Queens I am going to use your answer. Thanks a lot.
You're Welcome. Good Luck with the quiz
It does specify Kings and Queens of England and it was not Harold 1 who was killed at Hastings. It was Harold the second.

I knew that saintstim, but thanks anyway.
