Hi Tinks, I realise that sometimes we all don't feel like it, but try an make an effort as these sessions are worthwhile. I am sure the counsellors get used to us not turning up depending on what state of mind we are in, but it helps to keep the " flow " between you smooth. Hope you are getting on ok xxx
Hey Tinks. I haven't started my counselling yet. I had it a couple of years ago for bulimia but my GP wants me to go back. This stupid ankle and not working is bringing up old issues. I, of course, keep putting it off. I am seeing my GP tomorrow. He is going to give me a right rollocking! lol
I'm glad yours is going well. Keep it up sweets xx
If you're lucky to get some face to face sessions you should go. My doctor put me on a course of CBT but it's a 20 year old computer based system which just has a bunch of automated responses. It's a complete Fluffing waste of time and has the opposite effect.
Afternoon DIL - I've had 9 sessions - not really sure what I have got out of it - but I don't cry now, which I did at first. My counsellor says I am really easy to talk to and get on with - I do make her laugh with my stories, not quite sure who is counselling who...there have been times when I don't feel like going, mostly because I don't feel very chatty. I also come out of the session feeling quite positive, I just wish it would last into the next day. {:o(

It was the year anniversary of my Mum dying on Saturday 11th - the Counsellor said I may have a very blips and to expect them.

I am paying privately for my sessions, but did have one session with the NHS counsellor - he was lovely, but looked about 12. The outcome of that was he gave me reams and reams of paperwork to make notes, keep diaries etc etc....which felt like I was doing his job. Never went back to him.

Yeah sometimes i think is this helping me?

This was session 5- but he said i was progressing really well untill session 4 something i said made him think "hmmmm"

Sometimes i just think i could sit and rattle on and on forever but is it helping? Its good to offload, and today he did say a few things that i am thinking over!!

I will use all my sessions im very lucky to have them but glad you understand some days you just want to shove your head under the duvet!

Again im sure once im working ill be better!!

Voddy your GP is going to have words lol...no seriously though good for you asking to go back!!

I have started back my propanolol again at night now & again i have a few wobbles!!

Anniversarys are tough MIL :0((( hugs!

Still going to go for hypnotherapy i think!!

Hey flump!! Theys probs used to it! He called me because it wasnt like me!!

EB ive been worried about you huni i hope u r ok!? Theyve mentioned CBT to me but if its not working get back to GP and ask for the counselling xxxxxxx

Question Author
Thanks flump..glad i made the effort to go! Sometimes you just cba!! And i come away feeling bad at things ive admitted/said!!

And somethings he says "hit home" aswell ...difficult!!

I have turned my efforts to some nice bolognaise sauce i cant stop tasting it ha there will be none left!!! Xx
TBH, I'm immensly peeved this was the course they put me on. Especially when I expressed my Dr how I didn't want to take any pills, just needed to speak to someone but she convinced me stuffing me with bloody pills would be a good bargaining tool to get other help. I wasn't expecting this Sugar system. Going back tomorrow anyway so I'll speak to her. Oh, and I'm ok thanks. x
Question Author
Yeah go back and say its not working! I dont think CBT would be for me...it seems "step by step" where as i enjoy the talkinh therapy and find that more helpful!!!

You know where i am if you need me hunny :) xx
Mine hasn't started yet Tinks, got a phone call about it yesterday but I was out, tried ringing this morning but it went to messages, just waiting for them to call me back, glad you're doing better, when does the job start?
Question Author

Question Author
Brilllllll....keep me posted traci :0) step in the right direction xxx
no disrespect tinks, but if you have been lucky enough to get a counsellor, i do believe you should attend all appointments as continuity and commitment to the treatment are vital for you and the councellor,
