How can I get contacts from BB to PC and then to a new phone?

Help... My BB screen has died. I've ordered a new phone, but need to save my contacts. I can connect the phone to my laptop, but am struggling to pull the contacts off. Also, when I have pulled them, I'll need to put them on my new phone. Does anyone have an idiot proof guide?
Because the screen has died on my BB, I can't just move all the contacts to the SIM card...

Is your new phone a blackberry too?

If so, it shouldn't be a problem using the BB desktop software.

Or if it's not a blackberry, you can probably sync your contacts with either outlook or the windows address book and then sync them back to the new phone using the new phones computer suite.

yes, BB is blackberry, sorry. No, my new phone isn't a blackberry. I don't have Outlook installed at the moment and not sure what Windows address book is - I'll try to install Outlook and give it a shot!
