Dell Inspiron 1525 battery will not charge

I have a Dell Inspiron 1525. Right now I am able to run the laptop off a/c power through the power adaptor. The battery will not charge at all. Does anyone have any idea as to what is causing this? Should I invest in a new power adaptor? how about http://www.pcakkus.com or http://www.rabattakkus.com

I wouldn't buy a new adaptor from those sites.
Besides, you need a new battery I think rather than a new adaptor

Has it recently shwn a drop in performance or has this occurred suddenly?. If the laptop runs of the pwer adaptor then you dont need a new one. If the fault occurred suddenly it may be the battery contacts aren't doing their job, though this is unlikely.

you have a dead battery...I have the same thing..on the icons at the bottom,
sometimes the battery is full, othertimes its empty..when I have been running
on the mains for about 6mnths now.

Even if your battery is dead you should still be able to operate your laptop through the power adaptor I have the same model and my battery has been dead over 12 months,not bothered to replace it as I always use it with the adaptor connected.

You don't need a new power adaptor you need a new battery. Take out the battery and find the type number , then look on ebay for that battery . Probably £20 max . If you buy a Dell brand name battery it will cost you £40 or so for the same thing.
