I have 2 questions:
Why do Lidl staff always look so miserable?
Why is there such an apparently high staff turnover?

'Lidl' - whoops!
Because they are crap employers they limit break times, and toilet brakes and at one point made female employees wear red head bands when they where having there period so the bosses knew they would need extra brakes. The list is endless, planted items in pockets by bosses etc
firewatch, the headband thing was in Eastern Europe, never in the UK.
Do toilet brakes stop you going?
^ "planted items in pockets by bosses etc"?
I haven't heard about this. Do you mean as a way of getting rid of staff?
I think it's fair to say that Lidl like their money's worth from their employees but they do pay moe than many other supermarkets for comparable jobs. If you don't like the job -don't do it.
Toilet "brakes"? No wonder they are pi$$ed off Firewatch. Son of a friend has been with Lidl for 6 years and enjoys his work. Never in my puff seen a female employee with a red headband and I shop there regularly.
saw the header and thought ...whoopeee pictures of young ladies in bikinis at a swimming pool, anyway back to lidl, I agree with firewatch they do seem to have a high turnover of staff and speaking to a previous employee, she said she would rather work at asda or tesco.

Your link is an eye-opener. I always take things like this with a pinch of salt, but there are just so many similar experiences reported that at least some of them must be true
Thanks.
"Why do Lidl staff always look so miserable? "

Probably because they've been serving morons all day :-)
They'd never be allowed to discriminate against the females like that, I think that must be rumour not fact.
The Spelling Police are so shocked at the harsh treatment of our female workers they have decided to overlook the few corrections needing in these posts.

They are not quite sure what work 'brakes' are; they are normally found on cars.
Im dyslexic thank you for pointing out my errors :(
We use the Lidl in Portugal when on holiday and they are always very helpful. We don't have a Lidl very near to us where we live here. I think its all rumours probably spread by a rival store!! A***? ;)
I am so sorry to hear that, firewatch. The Spelling Police always makes allowances for people with this condition. They would like to respectfully suggest that you watch the film "The Naked Gun 33 and a third" and see which newspaper is in the opening scence. The headline in the paper reads "Dyslexia for cure found".
The staff at our local lidl are always really helpful and friendly
