Cannot us utorrent, pelase help

When i try to download to utorrent, it says "can't find associated helper" and to change association in preferences. How do I do this? I am on windows xp. Have been using utorrent for years and now sudenly it's changed! In very simple childlike terms please. Thanks

Anyone?? I have to "associated with.torrents" but the box is grey and unclickable, help!!!

Thank you fender, I have managed to reinstall utorrent 3.3.1 and all seems ok at the moment.
