Anyone watch embarassing bodies the other night? The man with the leaky bottom! He was asked when did you last empty your bowels. His reply was two weeks ago! Jeepers! The mind boggles!

Why do these people do this on tv infront of millions if they're to embarrassed to see a GP in private?
"Please don't tell me you poo at work Jayne?"

Well, I work from home ... but do people have a problem with going at work??

(can we stop talking about my movements now, please)

ELVIS - it's just the name of the programme. Most have them have been to their GP's but had no luck. This programme sorts it out for them.
ummmm's right, poologists say pretty well anything is "normal"
fatty is not normal

that can not be normal
There are poologists ??
I think as long as it's regular. You should pay heed to any change in 'your' pattern.
interesting training = poology
Ahhh well ,that's ok then Jayne, lol.

But no, I couldn't possibly go at work, no matter how desperate, I just couldn't!
No luck?...as in Cowboy Doctors?

What next, Nick Knowles and his gang turning up on some guys doorstep to fix his leaky arse...DIY Dr S.O.S

.HOW OFTEN SHOULD I EMPTY THE BOWEL

There is no right or wrong answer to this. There is a very wide range of 'normal' bowel function between different people. It is by no means essential to have one bowel action per day, and indeed it is probably a minority of the total population who has this. Some people always go several times per day; others have several days between bowel actions. As long as stools are passes without excessive urgency (needing to rush to the toilet) with minimal effort and no straining, and without the use of laxatives, bowel function may be regarded as normal.

Perception of what is normal is based on personal experiences and growing up with other people. Most of us do not discuss bowel habit with our friends, or even our family. A few people become obsessed with the need for a daily bowel action and spend excessive amounts of time in the toilet or take laxatives to achieve this. Often this is unnecessary

Do the work loos have thin walls, B00 ?
Well we only have one ladies loo Jayne. The thought of someone else coming in to use it whilst i might be in mid flow so to speak just fills me with horror. I will and have held on to it all day, i WILL not go at work.
well, there are zoologists, I think they're the ones who feed the pandas at zoos.
Some GP's are not the best, Elvis.

In cases like women who have tubular boobies, or the ones that have one boob significantly bigger than the other. Their GP's are likely to have told them it's something they have to live with as correction is not covered on the NHS. Go on this programme...and you get a boob 'correction' job.
This is a cr@p thread lol lol
Okay B00, I'm with you there.

I can't bear using a loo when there's someone standing outside, waiting for you to finish.
poor man it must have taken a lorra courage to discuss this on tv going nationwide.Surely he should have the district nurse round to give him an enema [ the thought of that makes me shudder]
Once a day seems normal to me but Chief Stout [ Mr S] takes two Laxilol sachets with breakfast and 2 sennas at night [ prescribed by GP] he is obsessed with his bowel movement and talks about "satisfactory poos" ! I find this disgusting.
once Chief Stout left me in a restaurant and said he was going to the toilet, he didnt like the look of the toilet so drove home and went and came back 20 mins later without telling me anything, the waiter thought he had abandoned me and said dont worry about the bill you can sign for it and come back with the money tomorrow !
Just read this thread, I'm with JJ three times a day is normal for me. My mum panics if she doesn't go once every day.
I was ill not so long ago and both ends "went". After that I didn't do anything for 7 days, and when I did it was only small!! I had no stomach ache either!
