Don't forget the St Bruno ads. The advertising of pipe tobacco was the last to be banned.
Its full of Cadbury goodness and very nice to eat .......
Actually, tobacco advertising was of almost iconic proportions back in the early 60s. Who of a certain age can have forgotten: "You're never alone with a Strand" and, "Today's cigarette is a Bristol!"
I remember when I was at school (about 14 years of age) and we had a teacher who used to smoke a pipe. One day he passed me and he took big drag on his pipe. I couldn`t resist quoting from the latest ad on the TV. I said "Oh, Condor". That didn`t go down too well. I got a right telling off.
Yes, Thenry, "A finger of fudge..."

By the way, Don't forget the fruit gums, Mum!
Remember Leanord Rossiter and Joan Collins ? Bacardi ? !
No, Campari (yuk). Was the original actress not called Lorraine Chase? Anyway, that was far too post-modern for the period I'm talking about.
Mike, here it is....

Leonard Rossiter and Joanie were the Cinzano ads
Although probably erased from the collective memory by the passage of time the phrases:
"Were you truly wafted here from Paradise?"
"Nah, Luton Airport!" ,were on everyone's lips in those days.
Love these Aldi adverts, the newer ones aren't half as funny!
