I know this should be in Technology but no-one about there.
I have had a message box come up on main pc headed Window File Protection.
Saying:-
Files that are required for Windows to run properly have been replaced by unrecognized versions, to maintain system stability, windows must restore the original versions of these files.
Insert your windows XP professional CD-ROM now. What has caused this, all I did was clean the disk and delete browsing history. I haven't got an XP disk just the home version as son in law up dated us. Any suggestions as a lot of items on pc have been wiped out. Thanks folks.

You could try a "System Restore". It may have gone too far for that, but, returning the system to an earlier time before the damage was done might work.
