Yesterday I was at the Renal clinic, which I attend because of problems with my kidneys due to diabetes, and was told, very nicely by a very sympathetic doctor, that my creatine levels have risen and it is more or less time to start thinking about dialysis - I managed not to cry until I reached the car. Today I had a car crash and I think that the car is a write-off. Isla and I both walked away, but we had lost an argument with a lorry; the driver wasn't hurt either. And a friend told me some rather bad news about a friend of ours, I'm hoping that this will now be tthe three things.

Incidentally, my air bags worked, but they filled the car with dust and smoke, and I thought that the car was on fire! Do they always do that?

have just read this but sympathy on a crap day is never too late. at least anytime you want to have a chat you can always come on here and someone will try to help. big hugs to you and your friend.
Islas mum.. turn it around.... you have a medical problem for which they can offer you a tried and tested treatment so you can be there for your familiy for many many years... you and your daughter have walked away from a car crash that a few years ago before the invention of all the safety stuff in cars you might not have survived... Getting bad news about a friend is always going to be something thqt makes you sad but although right now you are suffering from shock and trying to get your head round what is to you awful news you WILL be here tomorrow, and onwards. Hopefully as you get your head around things you will look back and say I was lucky... But right now take all the support you can get to get through the initial stages wait and see life may throw you a good surprise next time head up so you see it coming and can grab hold
How are you today islasmum? Did you manage to sleep? Xx

Thank you all again - rowanwitch, one tiny correction - Isla is actually my Belgian Shepherd dog - I don't have any children, but Isla is like a child to me. Thank you for your very positive answer -I've been thinking today and I am very lucky - it just deserted me for a day or two. It is so nice to have so many people sending good wishes. I had to go and pick up all my stuff from my car today, as it's sitting in a recovery yard waiting to go for scrap, and I have to say I cried when I left it - it had been such a good car.
I'm going to say goodnight early tonight - I had very little sleep last night and bad dreams when I did, so hopefully I should sleep well tonight - I just wanted to say a big thank you to all who have offered best wishes and cyber hugs - please feel hugged back everyone. xxx
Night Islasmum, sleep well.
