how many ton of gravel will i need to cover 5 metres x 3 metres

You're going to have to tell us how deep you want it on the ground.
Ok will help out here, not to deep if you want to drive on it, about 100mm, this will do for decor as well,:)
Still don't know the answer, forgot how to work it out !! wait for MR B mate
5m x 3m x 100mm is about 3 tonnes, though if you are going to drive on it I would recommend about 50mm thick, so thats about 1.5 tonnes.
sounds good to me , what about size of gravel 20mm, 10mm ?? does this matter as regards to application?
Sounds about right. Those bulk bags you see around (often blue or white in colour) contain about 0.5 cubic metres so you will need three of those. The alternative to ask for a quote for loose gravel for which you will have to pay a price for a tipper truck to deliver it. Which is cheaper will depend on the distance you are from the source
