I have just changed from a blackberry to an I phone.. the blackberry needed charging once a week and the Iphone needs charging every day.. is there any way i can make the iphone battery last longer? Im not on my phone much and if my daughter was using it she'd have to charge it every couple of hours.. Its an Iphone 4s

Yes, you can.
I charge once for my iPhone every three days.
You need to install an memory optimization tool to free up memory each time when you finish your game or any other applications.
You can find a free one in the app store.
Also, turn off wifi, 3G and Bluetoth if they are switched, they drain a battery very quickly. Just switch them on when you need them.
Sorry, I also found that a full charge lasted longer if the phone battery was completely exhausted before recharging, not everytime obviously, that wouldn't be practical.
also check what apps you have running, they will all run in background unless you switch them off.

click the home button twice quickly and youll get a list along the bottom of screen of apps that are running. press and hold one until the close sign appears on them all and then close each one until they all go.
