Kind-hearted but dull neighbour has turned up to show Mr Frog his dry-stone-walling pics (don't ask). We were hoping to go to the cinema, have a curry, then come home and get cosy. Not going to happen.

I'd have said, "Hi Bob, good to see you but we were just on our way out to the cinema. Can't stop now but please pop by tomorrow sometime." Too late for that now I guess.

Never mind, go make a curry while they look at pics and then you can carry on from "come home and get cosy" .

Menage-a-trois?
Murder him and bury the body under his dry-stone-wall

Yep, bednobs, that's pretty much how it is. Good thing I had the foresight to bring a glass of wine with me.

shoota - nooooooo! I may be desperate, but I don't do halitosis!
Have hubby tell him you were just off out and make another time to see him?

Just be honest: you have plans to go out tonight.
How many different ways can you photograph a dry-stone wall anyway?
Oooooooooh .....drystone wall pics

Will he let you upload them ?
When my Dad thought visitors had out stayed their welcome he would start to take his trousers off saying, bedtime for me. It worked every time.
I would simply say to my OH, "Sorry to interrupt, darling but if we don't leave soon we're going to miss the film." And put your coat on as you say it.
Excellent answer Maidup.
