Well! I'll go to the foot of Rosamund Street. :)
If only real life was like soapland, pub every lunchtime without worrying about health and safety, pub at night, no tv ahhh bliss lol

It is so difficult to get a mortgage nowadays, neither of them were working, didn't have obvious savings, so why come up with a story line like that?
I love Corrie but some storylines fill me with such anger as to why do it? It is not logical, get back to the original ethos of Corrie. Good strong northern logical storylines.

And Hilda Ogden,

Well if you are going that route, what about ttfn?
It came from the script. Doh !
stupid storyline but can't stand either of them, yes its a soap, but very misleading to youngsters starting out 'if on tv, then its true' attitude. There will be fair few who think they can do it now, and friends daughter had good job, but could still only afford one bed flat with partner.
Agree. As bagpuss said yes it's only a soap storyline but totally ridiculous.
You have to have about 20 to 25% of purchase price these days to start out on the housing ladder - I know from my sons' experiences.
Still love Corrie but hate some of the silly storylines.
ive stopped watching it as there are no decent story lines anymore. long gone are the good old days of Hilda, Stan and Elsie tanner. id love to see re runs of the old corrie , so much better and definitely better written.
I've been so busy preparing for a big Jubilee event this week I haven't had time to watch Corrie for about 2 weeks and quite honestly haven't missed it - been watching it since 1967 and hardly missed an episode until now .........the storylines now are really bad, boring and unbelievable - get rid of the current writers!
Anne i totally agree :0)
