my hair is currently a dark red colour which im loving but its costing me a fortune having it done all the time, the colour fades really quickly and my natural hair colour is a mousy brown so when my roots come through i look almost grey against the red. Was thinking about stripping the dye out of my hair and going natural for a bit, i tend to go quite blonde in the summer. Is there a way i can do this at home or is this a salon only procedure? I find it awkward to get a time to suit with work commitments etc

I wouldn't risk doing that at home.

What length is you hair?
It won't go back to your natural colour if you use one of the home kits, it will most likely go bright orange.

If you used a permanent red dye it will most likely have contained some peroxide to help the red colour 'stick'.
This got some good reviews a while ago, not checked lately, not used it myself either.
