According to Shell Book of Firsts, molasses were used in 1829. They were seasoned with mustard, salt pork, and blackstrap molasses. Tomato sauce was introduced in 1880. Hope this helps.
12 June 1921 saw the end of Sunday postal delivery and collection. Dorling Kindlsey 20th. Century Day by Day. Hope this also helps.
Charles I in Hunting Dress hangs in the Louvre, Paris. However, Van Dyck painted at least two other portraits as he was the Court Painter to Charles I. The picture named here is said to be his most famous.
apparently he painted 37 pics of Charles 1 one is in the Louvre another at Windsor Castle and one in the National Gallery.Dunno where the rest are though.............
Sames goes for the Italian lira which uses the same abbreviation ('lira' coming from 'libra'). So British currency (before it went metric) was always quoted as "pounds/shillings/pence", abbreviated "L/s/d" (libra/solidus/denarius).
dunno if this helps......it could be how many pennies to the pound?????dont know though!!!!

Libra = 12oz

Denarius approx 3 grammes

28 grammes per oz

112 per Libra?

240 old pence to the pound

I am fairly sure the most books have been written about chess.

Old money - Pounds, Shillings and Pence used to designated as = L, S & D (Libra, Sesterti & Denarius) so it might mean how many pence in the pound = 240

About the question on which game has the most books been written - is it cricket rather than chess?

Thanks
