Garden Parasol Decoration !?

After being closed for a few months, I opened my garden parasol earlier to find some odd 'creations' formed/built in the folds of the parasol. I think they were bee eggs each in their own 'house' in line of about6 and each egg surrounded by yellow pollen stuff. Why would bees start building a nest inside a parasol ? Fascinating but sadly not there anymore !

They may not be bees, more likely to be wasps or other solitary beasties.
