I am starting up my own business at the minute but i'm also still employed by another company at the minute. My question is how come I work harder for my present employer than I do for my self. If any body has any reason's or books I could read or course's I could take to help me snap out of this mentality it would be greatly appericated

Crilly, I've often wondered that myself. I also work but have private clients too. I could have so many more and go full time self employed and earn loads more while I'm at it, but I don't have the motivation or want the stress. I'll look forward to your replies.

I work hard for my clients but find it harder to pick the jobs up and make a start if that makes sense.
You are obviously an ambitious person but finding the motivation is an important part of becoming a successful business person. I would suggest that one of the most important things to do is to decide what is important to you and to focus on that eg House car, level in your business the other important thing to do is to make set yourself goals to achieve which will lead you towards your focal point. Hope this helps but if you need more help there are other things that you can do including online training.
Get back in touch if you wish.
In the meantime all the best
