Have read all the Foundation books except Foundation and Empire and can't seem to find it in any local library. Refuse to pay money for a book I will only read once as a matter of principle. Anyone know where I could borrow a copy from? Also anyone read the Foundation books written by SF authors after Asimovs death and if they have are they any good?

Can I ask how it is principled to refuse to buy a book even if you will only read it once?

Im scottish and refuse to part with money when can get same book at library for NADA.
Try asking your Library to order it for you.You may be charged 50p though! Depends how deperate you are to read the book.I have all 3 books at home.Bought for my husband who is a big Asimov fan. Do you never have favourite books which you can read again?
Fair enough! - Usually your library will have a facility for ordering a book and they will source it and give you a shout when it's in.
Just for the record, not all Scots are as tight as The Ponderer. I buy loads of books, hardback copies too.
I didn't know anyone had written Foundation books after Asimov's death. Wait just went and looked it up. http://www.vavatch.co.uk/books/asimov/
Might just have to have a look for those.
You could buy a 'Used & new@ one from Amazon for 1p. + postage. http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/tg/detail/offer-list ing/-/0586010807/all/203-9418733-5426327
It's worth it just to read the book, and have finished the 'original' trilogy.
