No, unless you have a specific multi-car policy, you can only use NCD on one car at a time.

Is this so insurance company's make even more money
When we had 2 cars each built up it's own NCD. We paid for protected bonus but if we hadn't and had to claim we would only lost it on 1 vehicle.
Possibly.
You can earn no claims discount on another car though, this can apply to classic car policies for example.
I have my main car on my NCD'counted policy and a seperate policy as a classic car for my second car, this second one will then earn me a years no claims discount for that one.
No !
Possibly

"Splitting" no claims discount is a questionable practice - they don't like doing it.

I have in the past had an insurance company split my no claims wen I got another vehicle but that was over 10 years ago.

Worth asking your insurance company and then saying thanks you'll shop around when they say no. See if you can twist their arm.

For what it's worth I think it was Norwich Union that split mine

thanks for replies guys, another question do you always have to show proof of no claims
Usually yes you do, fruitsalad.

whats to stop anyone telling one insurance company you have x amount of no claims for one vehicle and then telling the other insurance company you have x amount of no claims for the other vehicle and sending a photo copy of the proof
They don't usually accept photo copies.
very crooked insurance companies ! the NCD is earned by the driver NOT the car. and one cannot drive both cars at any one time so why are people being ripped off ? I find these days that insurance is a big racket
