Hi, about 4 weeks ago I noticed what looked like a small spot just above my top lip so I squeezed it and ever since it will not heal. I get out of the shower and it starts bleeding and takes ages to stop, then when it does stop it looks like a small red smooth scab which does not need much interferance with to start bleeding again. It has now got to the point that it is bleeding 2 to 3 times a day the first time when I shower in the morning and then 1 to 2 times more. Anyone got any idea what it is and how to get it to heal. Thanks.

Go to the doctor - nothing should bleed for this long without healing.

Thanks Boxtops, I have been putting it off going to the docs as I really dont like him. I will make an appointment.
No big deal......almost certainly a cherry haemangioma.

Cautery will stop it, but something that one doesn't have to hand ;-)

If they still have caustic sticks at the chemist, then a couple of applications will do it.
Good idea sqad, we've got a styptic pencil somewhere in the medicine chest.
scoob...........how old are you?
