disc contents not showing

not seen this before
i have a disc i use for pic docs progs
(disc "g") but when i opened it this morning there's nothing showing up on it but all the contents are there because they open up when clicked on in my task bar ??

Are you sure the contents aren't simply hiding out of view? have you tried scrolling the explorer window about? (only likely to be an issue in windows XP)

tried that chuck, nothing.
did a restart , checked it again ,nothing, then suddenly every popped up
so its ok. but weird, and yes i am on xp pro

In your shoes I think I'd be tempted to back it all up, just in case.

Ive just bought a new laptop and using windows 7 for the first time. I was using vista before hand. Ive saved files to the c drive but when you open the drive in explorer they dont show, there appears to be a 'compatibility mode or words to that effect, button on the toolbar then they show?
