My bro and his wife have come down here for a wedding so I agreed to pick their baby up from the reception earlier in the evening and bring her to mine for bed.

SIL has been telling all day how babe would be screaming as soon as she got in the car to go without her mum, would struggle to go to sleep without her there and would only sleep if the house is completely silent but for her wave machine.

Well, there were a few whimpers when mum said goodbye as she was putting her in the car seat but the words iggle piggle stopped the tears before we'd even left the car park. She came back smiley and had a nice little cuddle with her grandad (who she's only met about three times) then we went up, sang some songs, had a little cuddle and she went down perfectly happy. Not one wimper. And the toilets been flushed a few times as well as the TV actually having the volume on its normal level (she makes my bro watch on mute with subtitles). I'm fairly tired but I'm going to stay up until they get back just so I can tell her how wrong she was. Lol

Love it - good for you
And so you should! I hate when people pander to babies for no reason. Well done :)

She does drive everyone a bit potty. I think she encourages babes to be really clingy, whe infancy she isn't.

She probably won't believe how well it's gone so I'm glad I had my dad here to back up my claims. Lol
Well done - but don't feel too smug just yet, the night's still young! How oldi is the baby?

They'll be home in an hour or so, the it's their job again :)

She's 18 months.
You should be ok then (in theory) - well done, I am impressed. When are you coming to babysit mine?

Hmmm, yours are a little older aren't they.....

As long as they've got some of Jnos toothache remedy, anytime ;)
did it go well? Did the Mum gnash her teeth and have to be grateful even though she wanted to kill you?
