Did you wear a shell suit in the '80s? I had to wear one as I was working in health and fitness at the time and it was the uniform for winter.

Hell yeah, I had an awesome shell suit. But then I was only a kid in the 80s.

I stopped wearing it on bonfire night though. I'd seen something saying you shouldn't wear one near flames and when I got home from school my mum had laid it out on the bed for me to put of for the fireworks display. I was terrified and cried most the night. Lol.

My eldest daughter wore one, so they must have been cool at some time, she wouldn't even play out as a child if she wasn't dressed right.

I remember once forbidding her to get changed in order to go out into the Crescent to get an icecream from the van - a distance of no more than thirty feet. She went without rather than be seen in the 'wrong' outfit - I think she was about nine!
I think I had black shell suit bottomss, 99.9% certain I did.... Never had the dayglo stuff and wasn't allowed to pick many of my own clothes in the 80's so suspect my mum got them for me cause she thought I'd be 'cool'... I definitely had the most awful bemuda shorts though, terrible thngs!
Ha, ha those awful Bermudas. You still see elderly men wearing them on the beach. My son had loads of pairs which he wore with ginormous baggy T shirts.
I was also a child in the 80s, boy did i think i was cool in my shell suit!
there was a craze with aloha shorts for a while, late 80s early 90s

remember the hippy acid multicoloured baggy tracksuits, I hated them
My mum let me go out in bemurda shorts with a striped t-shirt Lofty, co-ordinated I was not! And there's pictures to prove it... :c(
Horrible clothing really wasn't it China, although didn't think so at the time.
I think my son is still wearing some of the Baggy T shirts he had then when he decorates. They fit him now as ordinary T shirts!! You must be in the same age group as him!!
no
No, but I wore hot pants in the 60's!
Quick answer no. Honest answer Hell No!
I wouldn't have been seen dead in a shell suit. In the 80's I was all big hair and suits with shoulder pads and pushed up sleeves for work. Out of work I imagined I looked like one of Bananarama. Looking back at old photos I looked like an idiot.
No, but with them been the 'in' thing in the Eighties and being a teen I always wanted one (how sad) ...and they looked more comfortable than the tracksuits that I had.
I'm really glad I wasn't a teenager in the eighties Lofty, teenage yeas were hard enough without those kind of fashion problems!
At least Mrs O has moved on ... I hear her full Goth regalia, with the green marigolds, is the talk of polite society in Whitby ...
Ha ha Dave.
My current look is "ageing rock chick"

I just know in 10 years time I'll look back at the photo's and think "what an idiot"
No shell suit. I was like mrs o. Power suits. Big shoulders, big hair what a sight. Cringe.
