I use kalms and i find that they help to "switch me off" but only if I take 7 or 8.
Do you know what is stressing you? Best solution is to face it and deal with it if you can.
I've taken Kalms in the past. They have helped - but gave me indigestion!

Taking herbal medicine is not like taking a paracetamol -you need to know the cause of the stress or the symptoms of the stress (weepy, irritaged, angry) all are treated differently. 5 HTP is very good but look at this link you can put in your symptoms and it will give you some ideas, you can buy most of the stuff in healthfood shops you don't have to buy the stuff from the site

Ps i havent had much trouble sleeping like i used to because of a tablet i take for hayfever at night which makes me drowsy. X
kalms contain Valerian which is a sleep aid
Can give you some very strange dreams
Check for contraindications with any other meds you may take
St Johns Wort must be used with caution if you use sunbeds for example, so you will need to check it out thoroughly before you take anything

Picked up some kalms for today and some bachs spray which ive usd before- makes me feel bit better cos the spray is quick acting...so if i wake up like that again ill try the spray.

And natural too.... And some fresh orange juice get some goodness into me x
Does your breathing go a bit potty when you are having the panic? Maybe it would be an idea to keep a little paper bag by your bed so if it happens when you wake up you can use that to help your breathing.
Question Author
Yeah it does...but its more me blowing out rather than the breathing in i do it to try and calm down...know what i mean? (lol).

Havent slept yet. Think ill try to not nap now and save for tonight... Then again overtiredness makes it worse too :0/ x
Hi tinks...
Have you considered High strength B complex vitamins? They are good for the nervous system...not a quick fix, mind you. It would take several weeks to see a result-but you'd feel calmer overall.
If you go out drinking a lot-your bodies reserves of B are depleted...same with C

I've found Kalms great in the past.

Have you ever tried a meditation class or something similar, learn how to relax, ground yourself (you can use when stressed) and other techniques you could use.

Even use visual aids, calming things on postit notes or whatever is handy. I used to have one with "rationalise" on :)

Something to focus on could also help like something squishy and calming - if it's something you can squeeze, concentrating on that might distract a little from the panic and help you get your breathing under control if you can get into a rhythm of squeezing and breathing.

Is it the unemployment stressing you out, tinks. That is very understandable and could be one of the root causes, even if it is "subconcious".........
Question Author
Possibly adding to it DT but i began suffering these about 5-6 years ago when i stayed at home and had a FT job...moved out, then back and job/uni etc so been in a variety of situations lol....but yes its probobly not helping :0(
might be worth asking your GP or CAB if there are any free meditation/yoga classes around to provide the relaxation techniques that Jenna refers to....
