A friend needs to have her old boiler and radiators replaced? She has accepted a quote for £2,200 including a top of the range boiler combi, 2 radiators and labour. She has an old copper boiler and lead pipes which need to be ripped out. She told the tradesman that she wanted those to sell as scrap. He has said that he has included those in his price and will take them. Can he do this please?

If it is written in his quote then yes, otherwise to take away without your permission could be looked upon as theft.
Yes, Moonie's right, Dylan. It all depends on the quote. If the guy had any sense, he would have put it in writing. Between you and me, that's a very good price. Let him have the stuff, if only for reasons of goodwill. If he's a half decent guy, he'll do a good job in return.
Hope it goes ok.
Monsieur le Builder - you didn't ask the crucial question, i.e. is the boiler in an airing cupbaord

......... I was desperately trying to avoid even thinking that, Mrs Overcast ;o)
