Yes there is a way but cant think how it was done, i saw it in a friends car a few years ago, he had teh phone in a phone dock that plugged into the 12v socket and then a wire going somewhere.

Here this might be what your after, Amazon.co.uk User Recommendation

I just have the square plug that you plug into the laptop to upload the music that's all. Thanks DC it looks like I need something like that from your link. I suppose I could ask at the carphone warehouse or similar.
Blimey AYG, you'd de a massive leap from radiogram to Ipod. Good on you ;-)

Lol Mrs O the radiogram was a bit bulky to take with us everywhere. I had a Walkman for ages then ditched it. Mr Ask isn't really bothered but I like to listen to it when ironing and thought I could use it in the car (got a new Jazz).
Surely if it's a new car then it will have a jack plug ( like a headphone) socket?
My car stereo has a 1.5mm stereo jack input. I just have a 1.5mm to 1.5mm stereo lead. Pug one end into the headphone socket of the Ipod and the other end into your radio,
If your radio hasn't got an input you can get little FM transmitters to plug into the Ipod and tune the radio to receive it.
There's a test on some here: http://www.techradar....pod-5-on-test-1035323

It has Zacs but the connection from my iPod is a flat small rectangular shape that doesn't fit in the jack plug in the car. I hoped someone might know what type of connection I need to ask for.
No no no. You plug it into the headphone socket dear.
This is what you need

No she doesn't woof gang all she needs is a double ended 3.5mm jack plug lead.
If you Ipod and radio have 1.5mm jack sockets you just need one of these: Amazon.co.uk User Recommendation
ooops. I meant 3.5mm. Not 1.5mm.
Yeah! That's the thing. But not necessarily 1.2 meters long.

Thanks Graham for your explanation I have a docking station on my radio at home, I was thinking of something like that, I'm not technically minded at all as you can tell.

Thanks Zacs = got the idea now.
