Have looked in Arts and Literature and theres nothing about this, but I remember a discussion on AB a while ago about the various merits of different copies of this book. I would like to buy one for my husband's birthday, so would be grateful for any advice. Thanks

Are you talking about the Bradshaw railway guide book or the family called Bradshaw?

Thanks jackthehat, how do you do that. Have already ordered a copy.
At the top of the page is the Search bar.....just type in what you are looking for and it searches throughout AB for matching words. Some results are more useful than others, of course. :o)

Glad to have been of assistance.

Thanks again.
Amazon.co.uk User Recommendation this is the one i have....far better than the more expensive version
Try www.thebookpeople they have a facsimile edition which isn't terribly expensive
I bought Hubby86 a copy for his birthday last month from Amazon - it was only £5 (RRP £9.99) but I see it has now gone up to £7 on Amazon. He was thrilled with it and we spent a long time looking places up in the guide that we knew well comparing them to Bradshaws era on the 1800s. The print is a bit small - that's the only drawback for an older person but a really good gift for someone interested in travel, history or railways.
