Tory Government
what are the other examples?
Incidentally I work 2 mins from Liverpool Crown Court where these guys are being trialed, every day there's been dozens of police up hovering around it due to the gang of BNP members outside using it as an excuse to ask for all immigrants to be booted out!
What these 11 men have done is repulsive, but you can't suggest that this kind of activity is due to their race / culture.
Could be that they are not, aog, but more are being reported. Nobody seems to have seen or highlighted the link in the cases that had come to court where the offenders were from the same background and 'ethnicity' , until the press did so recently.
This sort of thing has been going on for decades. I was brought up in the care system in Leicester and I know for a fact this was happening all through the 80s there.
Who says they are <getting more widespread>

Any facts or statistics to back that notion up?
They are getting reported more now at last. However it's been going on for years, Asian men grooming young white girls for sex but of course the Asian community have always closed ranks and denied it ever goes on and the authorities have always been scared stiff of being accused of racism if it was ever mentioned and Asian men use this as a shield. The problem is a lot of Asian men, especially the young see white girls as trash to be exploited and abused.

And this sort of thing never happened before asians came along??

Maybe you've led a sheltered life?
Never worked in Social Services or the Police?
Or never read any Henry Mayhew?
Inspector Dave50, why have you let them get away with it for so long then seeing as you know the ins and outs of the whole process!!
Are they more widespread? Part of the problem may be in using the Daily Mail as a reliable news source. I generally have a quick look at the Daily Mail online (among others) every day, and it does become a tad obsessive about certain issues, and will often repeat the same story as 'news' - e.g. X has been arrested for...., then X is in court for....., then X has been sentenced for/acquitted of....

Stop trying to side track the issue, it is Asian gangs that are under discussion here.

Perhaps when it becomes regular for white gangs on a similar scale to commit such crimes, then rest assured they will be reported and then entered up for discussion.

But until then, put away your rose tinted specs and get reading.

And Kiki-frog, that is totally pathetic of you to blaim the Daily Mail for reporting such things, are they really wrong to class such crimes as 'news'? Tut, Tut.
AOG, my apologies if I appear 'pathetic', but it seems you misunderstood the point I was trying to make. I am not denying that violent and abusive crimes are worthy of reporting. What I am saying is that the Daily Mail will repeat updates to the same story as if it is the first time they have reported on the crime, for example the story that you cite here, thus possibly giving the impression that such cases are becoming more common, as you are suggesting.

The Daily Mail has certain hobbyhorses, and this is one of them (others being the price of houses, Facebook as the source of virtually all moral decline in the 21st century, and, bizarrely, the physical charms of the Kardashian sisters).

If you research the sexual exploitation of vulnerable young women as reported in other news sources you may well find that, as redhelen and Zeuhl, suggest, that it is not the exclusive province of Asian males.
AOG it has long been regular for both white and black gangs to commit this crime not 'on this scale' but on a bigger scale.

If you believe there is something unique about Asian "paedophile" gangs, you are right in one particular. It appears that these gangs operate to some extent to provide for the middle-aged men, who conspire, and act, with the others. In all other respects they do not differ in method or practices from the typical gangs; not 'Asian'; in London and other big cities who have been befriending girls, by one of them being the boyfriend, and then treating them as the sexual property of the gang members. That has been going on for decades. The girls are usually underage or just above. The perpetrators, the gang members, are young men.

And pimping is hardly unknown either, where innocent, often underage, girls fall into the clutches of someone, generally much older, middle-aged, who has them work in prostitution. This is a big problem, and often the work of organized crime (and not 'Asian' organized crime).

Incidentally, you describe them as 'paedophile'. The victims seem to be simply under the age of consent, not prepubescent children.
well. whatever race, colour etc, they need to be punished severely, the law here sucks, people go out and do such things and then get locked up in Butlins type accommodation, where its warm, great food, television and ciggies, and not just the funky ones also not to mention pool tables and a Christmas tree. It needs to stop, people need to be locked up in cold cells, where there is strict american type regime......seriously im disappointed, in these sick paedophiles, but also in the system, that lets them get away with it.....bet these dogs have daughters at home the same age as the girls they abused.....
I think such cases are getting more widespread because girls of 13 to 16 are more mature and experienced in having sex these days and in their opinion they think they are know longer children.

I do feel sick about the the actions of these alleged people but, where are the parents of these young girls?
Sorry,

no longer children!

It is amazing that once again, how excuses have been made, but very little condemnation made against these perverts.

Here are a few examples:

"It's all down to a Tory Government".

"The BNP are using it as an excuse to get the Asian chucked out".

"More are being reported"

"Are there not also gangs of white paedophiles"?

"It happened before Asians came".

"I've led a sheltered life, and I have never worked in Social Services or the Police, and never read any Henry Mayhew".

"I am using the Daily Mail as a reliable news source".

"And the accusations of paedophilia have been questioned, instead it is only a matter of under-aged sex", and yet this 'get out' is never used when it comes to describing some priest's and other's abuses, of under-aged persons.

Yes these are all diversions and excuses, to try and smooth over the real facts, even the police are scared to admit there is a problem in case they are labelled racist.

/// The Home Office commissioned a nationwide investigation into the problem, which has long been considered taboo by police officers fearful of being branded racist.///

/// It was reported that while most British sex offenders are lone white men, details of court cases in 13 towns showed that out of 56 men convicted of multiple offences of grooming girls for sex, 50 were Muslim, mostly of Pakistani heritage.///
AOG, we use paedophile, for the offender, and paedophilia, for the nature of the activity, in court and generally, to describe sexual activity involving victims who are pre-pubescent e.g 7. You are using paedophile, it seems, for the offender when the victim is simply below the age of consent e.g 15. We do not. If you want to depart from standard practice, that's a matter for you, but don't,please, treat a professional's, or anybody's, use of that distinction as an attempt by that person to belittle the offence or mitigate it.
