Are you still looking for another Utonagan? I know of three needing a new home, possiby two females together and the other is a neutered male.

I'm ashamed to say that I was nosy enough to read this and then have to Google what a Utepoot was, incase anyone else is equally as nosy....

What a shame. I wonder if this is one of those time the Ed could intervene and get a message to Utepoot?

They are really soft, our ex neighbours had a couple and although they look like wolves they are very gentle. If I was to have another dog it would be a utonagan.
Knowing some breeders of the Utonagan here in the U.S. (a totally different Breeders Society than the U.K.'s) a word of caution apparently is needed about UK bred Utonagans.

Rather than try to reconstruct the events from second hand knowledge, please visit this site for information if you're considering a rehome of this magnificent animal...

Especially click the "News" link... Best of Luck!
Sounds silly, but they all look so 'smiley' have a look.

The ones I have been told about are due to an elderly couple both dying and the daughter cannot take the dogs. Their local dog warden is involved in the rehoming. As to the link given, this goes back a fair while, to a time when two different societies who both claimed to be the 'official' breed society fell out. And as to the health problems, well I said in the previous thread that it just goes to prove that not all crossbreeds are healthier than purebreeds.
Utonagan? I must admit that I have never heard of them either, I do attend a few dog shows but the Lovely Carakeel does all that kind of stuff, showing and doing the show scene etc.

I'm still surprised ive never heard of them though.
Ok, Carakeel never heard of them either!

You won't find them at dog shows - they are not a recognised breed, just one of those made up names that people choose. They are a mix of Husky, Malamute and GSD, and the combinations are often any of those and the puppies can resemble any of the ancestors, so difficult to know what you are getting.
So a mongrel with a made up name then lol
