Does anybody ever really use a milkpan?

The real reason I ask is because a pan set I bought recently had 2 of the smaller saucepans, rather than a small saucepan and a milkpan, and I have used this pan far more than I would ever use the milkpan.

I'm sure they do. I haven't for ages, but there again I have a microwave oven which sort of makes a pan with a spout, for heating milk in, a bit redundant.

ideal for boiling eggs as they don't take long to heat up.

I use my milkpan a lot too, boiling eggs, making sauces, scrambling eggs, making porridge. Obviously, if more than 2 of you are eating, that would need a bigger pan.

I just think they serve no real purpose - they are so small that all the radiants (or whatever) are too big for them etc. I just think the idea of a pan set with two identaical smal pans is better.

I use my milk pan, it's small and goes on the smaller gas ring for: warming milk, making custard, boiling eggs, making sauces.

Is it just a small saucepan? I only ever use the little one. Usually just for heating soup or making sauces. Also for melting chocolate because the other pans are too wide and the glass bowl touches the water.

yes, use mine lots, not for heating milk mostly, just a small pan useful when cooking for just one!.........

Erin, I melt chocolate in my microwave. Have never owned a milkpan in my life, microwave does most things I need.
