My mum died in a hospice on Wednesday (during my sister's visit) after living with my family F.O.C. for the last 13 years.
On Thursday my sister emptied her bank account, apparently to distribute the monies to 3 named people (unbeknown to us).
We are arranging the funeral and paying the costs.
Surely she can't do that?

I have the bank book and card back in my possession and £107 went in each month and £107 went back out each month. It's was my Dad's prv pension. The odd £8 was made up in the odd p's over the years. Just glad I didn't deposit the cheque that had arrived when we were on hols over Xmas as I'm sure that would have been cleared and used for the hairdresser!
Aww feel for you Jackie (((hugs))).

Maybe you can find a little trinket that belonged to Mum for your daughter to keep. It'll mean much more to her than money in the end.

No need to stay away now, keep in touch and join in whenever you feel like it.

Thanks for the invite back, but I have no legal knowledge or credentials - so could only sympathise. I hope I'm through everything now and can just help my daughter through it. AGAIN, MANY THANKS TO ALL THAT POSTED, HELPED ME IN MY TIME OF NEED. I'm sorry to have wasted your time and energy. If sis had answered calls or texts after mum had passed away I wouldn't have suffered and you wouldn't have to answered my questions.
