I'm in a nostalgic mood now- just been listening to my 'Dreamboats and Petticoats' CDs while I did some long over due ironing! I heard 'Sea of Heartbreak' by Joe Brown and the Bruvvers and it set me off thinking about times past. Did anyone else listen to Saturday Club on the radio on Saturday mornings? Was it Brian Matthews? Also did anyone watch 6-5 Special and later Ready Steady Go? Happy times for me!

well we can't both misremember - I associate her with JS too.
I think there was a girl called Samantha Just on Totp in the early days, and if I remember rightly she might have married Mickey Dolenz from the Monkees. Brian Matthew is still going strong on Radio 2 on Satruday mornings doing Sounds of the Sixties. I also remember Janice Nicholls and her Oi'll give it foive on Thank your lucky stars................gee I'd no idea I was that old

I'd forgotten about Thank Your Lucky Stars. Cant remember Samantha! Spent many a happy hour listening to Radio Luxemburg and Radio Caroline. Joe Brown once called for petrol at the garage where my ex worked on a weekend and he served him. It was his one claim to fame!! Happy memories!
i remember the first time i heard Cliff Richard cus i was sick.....funny thing is it happens every time i hear him
Oooh I hated Billy Cotton's Band show, cos I disliked intensely Alan Breeze (Donkey Serenade!)

I adored Marty Wilde and wanted a poster on my wall but Dad wouldn't allow it so poor ole Marty was stuck on the wall of the cellar steps, where I only visited him occasionally cos I was frightened of the spiders therein!
I used to visit my aunts who listened to Billy Cotton, the Black and white Minstrels, and In Town tonight, and I listened to Luxembourg there. TV was Oh Boy, I loved Billy Fury and Cliff. I think my Mum was secretly in love with Russ Conway.
