Does anyone know where I can buy a digital scanner to pick up police radio traffic?

You can't. Since TETRA was rolled out, all Police transmissions are scrambled and encrypted. And besides it would be against the law.
I believe there is at present no TETRA scanners available on the domestic market . Most of the scanner manufacturers are American and TETRA I believe is not used as much in the US as it is in Europe. Someone may correct me if i'm wrong.
thers no such thing mate! a normal scanner still works you need an earpeice to covert the beacon signals into voice reconnition ie tetra head set !! old police radio's you can buy have had all the channels wiped y? coz they still work!! the new signal is like morse code! and if you look at police officers the cant use the radio without the head peice! my advice is look at the latest bearcat scanners and get a tettra headset to fit that as these autolock on frequencys that are unknown ie tettra
and tetra is the scramble and encryption! billynomates
