Would a proposed airport near the Thames Estuary sometimes be at risk of closure from fog?

Luton
I have spent a fortune on flying training but got to stage of getting work. Now work teaching flight planning to dispatchers.
... and stansted (see, I know now!)
I flew to Paris from London Ashford, it was a nissen hut in a field.
We were sitting in the 'departure lounge' when a man in a pilot's uniform stuck his head around the bar door and said '' All here ? good! , get on then and we'll go'' Mind that was in1971 it may be better now.
Eddie I went in a carvair lydd to le touquet in about 1967 with a car on the plane with the passengers!
It's still a bit like that, Eddie - it 's trying to get permission to extend now, much controversy about the bird reserves, the military firing ranges at Hythe, and Dungeness power station.... http://www.lydd-airport.co.uk/default.asp
You forgot London Oxford Airport (I kid you not)

What next!

London Aberdeen airport?
The crazy thing about Boris Airport is that they tried building a new 'hub' airport already - Stansted.

All the big boys refuse to use it, so it is mostly Easyjet andRyanair.

The major airlines don't even really want to use Gatwick.
There will be London Birmingham once the high speed rail link is in place!
Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen, welcome to London Charles de Gaulle Airport!
Joking apart chuck, we can be in France faster than it takes to get to London, some days!
The high-speed rail link is a not so funny joke...............
it's made a world of difference to us in deepest Kent, craft - it has its bonus points.
Just 2 things, the most important to flight safety is bird strike as said by a pilot referring to the Hudson landing, the other how is it ALL work seems to be going on in the SOUTH ? are we in the NORTH incapable of work? did I once hear that there was no South / North divide?
I don't believe there is a shortage of airport capacity in the south east, it is just that Heathrow is full.

They need to take some draconian measures to move traffic out of Heathrow to other airports.

Stansted was built for this very purpose, and is nowhere near capacity.
Hang on, we forgot London Biggin Hill Airport

(We could also add Northolt and Stapleford airfields)
