Haha! My cat doesn't even venture downstairs when we come in. We have to go to her!
If only 'Noisy' was that laid back about making her demands. She has a nasty habit of wanting something (even if it's only fuss) just as I've got to sleep, and she didn't get her name without a good reason!

She woke me up in the early hours of Tuesday morning. What I want to know is where the hell does a cat (in a house 20 miles from the sea) find a very large seagull to drag through the cat flap at 4.20am?
LOL, definately that's like here - usually - back are you???? Must be dinner time then!!! Followed by excerpt from Simon's Cat
Lovely and so true, we are total slaves to all the cats who visit
If only Caspar was that laid back. He sleeps just inside the front door...then greats me with increasingly loud 'shouts' - "food","food","food!"...doesn't stop til his dish is full. Sally-the dog-just tries to knock the cat over so she can get attention.
You haven't met Molly then? (see avatar) As soon as best beloved walks in the doors she demands a "plate", it doesn't matter that I've been with her all evening she seldom asks me to feed her, and she doesn't go to the plate the plate has to come to her! If we have Chinese I like to have chicken with cashew nuts, I get the nuts she gets the chook! She growls at anyone who has the temerity to attempt to sit on the sofa where she may be sitting whilst she is there and woe betide any of the other cats if they venture anywhere near her. Am I going wrong somewhere?
Some quotes:

""Owners of dogs will have noticed that, if you provide them with food and water and shelter and affection, they will think you are God. Whereas owners of cats are compelled to realise that, if you provide them with food and water and shelter and affection, they draw the conclusion that they are gods."
- Christopher Hitchens

"When dogs leap on to your bed, it's because they adore being with you. When cats leap onto your bed, it's because they adore your bed."
- Alisha Everett

"You can keep a dog; but it is the cat who keeps people because cats find humans useful domestic pets."
- George Mikes
LOL!! perfect Chris!
I often get an escort up to my house and they always seem to know it's me coming (sound of my keys probably though cats do seem to have a psychic thing going on!) and usually come running out to me as I'm walking up the street.

I'm usually finishing a cigarette (don't smoke inside) so open the door for them and often have them come see where I am if I don't appear soon enough to feed them.

If I don't wake up one of them usually purrs and nudges and then tramples me until I give up and get up to feed them.
A dog has an owner - you know that, the dog knows that.

A cat has staff.
