Morning all.
This isn't a question but I thought I'd share it because it was so amusing.
Our cat Finlay loves catching slow-worms. He doesn't kill them, merely invites them out to play then leaves it to us human slaves to replace them in the undergrowth. Yesterday, he had just placed one on the concrete path when a large crow landed right beside him. The crow was totally unafraid of Finlay and kept dancing sideways at him. Fin was growling really loudly and the crow was cawing back at him. This battle continued for about 15 minutes and by the time the crow grew bored and flapped away, the slow worm had wriggled back into the bushes.
Ever wished you had a camcorder handy? A real 'You've Been Framed' moment.
Have a great day, Mazza xx

How funny. Corvids are very bold and clever. I bet Finlay was a bit put out.
My Cat often had a run-in with my resident pair of Magpies. I think they used to torment each other on purpose at times and it used to be quite funny to watch.
No harm done either way !
Redman, reminds of one of our cats being asked out to fight by a magpie....cat was on the fence and the magpie walked aross to him and kept tapping the wood in front of the cat - sort of 'c'mon yer wuss', really aggressive - with his magpie mates all shouting and laughing behind him. Cat just looked baffled - then ate their babies a little later.

Yes ladybirder-The Finster was REALLY pi**ed off. He doesn't usually growl (very laid back cat) but he was telling that crow to go away in no uncertain terms!
Thanx for the replies guys-it seems that our Fin isn't the only mogster to have a run in with a corvid! x
At a guess, I'd say the crow was making a lot of noise to attract other crows to join in the standoff, in which case the Fin would have had little chance. All Corvus' species are experts at working together to steal prey from quite large animals.
