Hi sprobin, we wanted to buy a plasma and went to the electrical shops and had a look around and couldnt see any, so we looked at the LCD's and they were of very good quality so we have bought one of those

if you do think about the LCD's take care to look at the colour quality because on some of them the blacks look purple. hope thats helps.

LCD 's are now getting larger and the advice I got was buy a LCD not a plasma although it might be more expensive.
Spend about 4 on the What Plasma and LCD TV magazine as they do extensive tests and do a league table.
Sony and Panasonic seem to do well and some makes are truly awful. One that I was going to buy in fact.

agree with tellboy.buy the mags and read the reviews also try and find websites with customer reviews as these can be far more revealing and trustworthy.

also if you want your new tv be it plasma or lcd to be 'futureproof' make sure it is hd ready.
